Q7: Driving with rear hatch open

    Hello!

I just moved from an A6 to a 2015 Q7 with the power hatch option. I'm wondering what the recommended method is for driving with the rear hatch open, in the event I need to drive with a long piece of wood that won't fit inside the car. What I was thinking is I would open the rear hatch as far as it needed to go and stop it by holding the button. Put in the wood, push the hatch down onto the wood and secure it with bungees or something along that line.

I called Audi and they wouldn't tell me a way to do it for liability reasons.

Can anyone let me know if there is a better way?

    Thanks!
    Steve

Once you items are loaded. Press the close button. Once it gets to the desired point of closure, press the button again. From this point you can secure as need and the door will stay like it is, until you press any of the liftgate buttons to re-open.

When closing or opening, if it senses resistance it stops. You don't require much resistance at all, it's quite sensitive.
