No benefit in installing stock B7 seats. Basically the same seat. B7 has passenger airbag sensors. You want S4 recaros or A4 B8 sport seats.

The dual airbags are wired to deploy together when installed in a B6. Alternatively, only the secondary air bag is wired with connection to the ignitor circuit.

I ask as I have read that there is no difference (other than B7 being REAL leather) and I have also read that the cushion and bolsters are better on a B7.

B6 seats are real leather in the main sections - the parts in the middle that are sewn onto several sections that you sit on and that your back goes against. They are vinyl in the skinny sections on each side - the side bolsters. Are B7 different?

Out of curiosity I just looked at some B7s on ebay. They also have leather center sections and vinyl in the rest, although it does appear they may have used a softer grade of leather on the B7s.

Edit: The 3.0l A4s only, have full leather seating optional, the pleather side bolsters are standard.

Luxus, the normal b7 seats are the same. My b7 has the cracked vinyl like everyone has. I haven't been in a 3.2 b7 but they very well could have full leather like the 3.0. But the 2.0t has the same leather center and vinyl sides.

Had mine repaired a few years ago. Clicky click® I would love to say it held up but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Repair lasted almost two years and now it has opened back up.

I can confirm that. My seats are the same leather on the entire seat. No sections have different materials.

Keep your eyes open for some b8 seats! They bolt right up and just have to do a little bit of modification to the back seat locking pins.

Depends on the trim of the car and what features your b6 is missing....

Steering wheel should be nicer depending on the year, model and trim.
Head unit if you don't have a symphony II+ (assuming the b7 you are looking at has one as well).
Some of the control modules are updated with more features.
Bixenon headlights if present (to sell. They won't fit your b6 but they sell for good $)

My 2004 3.0 has vinyl bolsters. Only the center section is real leather.

Yes, if you do the swap, you want the B7 handbrake assembly, as that will make the install easier.

you can use the b7 handbrake... but you need to trim off some wire plastic cover underneath the center console.. you will understand this when you put the b7 hand brake on... LOL

Just checked the equipment list, full buffalo leather seating is optional for only the 3.0l A4s. Pleather bolsters are standard.

Anyone ever tried MkI/II TT seats in a B6?
Cheap as hell and match great as long as you want black.
Seems like a no-brainer and if they don't bolt in directly then it's very close. You might miss your power/memory option....but otherwise, I'd think this would be more popular considering the price.

Could you elaborate a bit on what's required for modification? There's a set of these available to me at quite a good price and I think I'm going to snag them.

I had to buy new b6 wire harness to re-pin all of the wires. Everything matched up good just a bit of trial and error figuring out what wire color is what

Seat rails on those will be direct bolt in. You need a 10 Triple square bit for the seat rail bolts. Do not use a torx bit.
