    ooohhhh... very nice!

how much clearance do you think you have between the highest point on the caliper and the inside of the wheel barrel? 1-3mm?

whats the model number for the kit you got?
as I think there are two version or even four.

is there a different color for it?

There is probably over 10mm of clearance. I'll take a closer look when I can and throw up a picture.

Kit can come with 4 or 6 piston caliper and 355 or 380mm rotor. My kit is 83.896.6800.51 from Excelerate Performance. I'd shoot them an email asking about colors/pricing. They are very helpful with great customer service.

I run 15mm spacers but I put the wheel on without to see about clearance and it's fine.

I have not seen any calipers for the rear, mostly due to our electronic parking brake I think. I would love to at least have matching rear rotors and I may go the route of adamsrotors.com for their pattern-matching rear rotors.

New kit doesn't come with new shield. I'm currently looking into whether or not I should modify the existing one to use but for now it is just off the car.

It's easy to release those bolts. Make sure the entire front of the car is up and turn the wheels to the side you're working on. Use a breaker bar with a cheater pipe and they loosen no problem.

I didn't know they were 200nm (147ftlbs) and I only torqued them back to 108nm (80ftlbs). Gotta tighten those up I guess. Where do you find that torque requirement, for future reference?

I am almost certain the factory 18s do not fit over the 380mm version. They work on the 355mm version. Some aftermarket 18s probably do clear the 380s though.

damn dude that is tight, i feel like a small rock could get lodged in there and cause some damage.
i like it the stoptechs though. these would not be good with my weekly inside and out wheel cleaning sesions. with the stock brakes im able to fit my whole hand between to clean the inside behind the caliper

btw its time to clean your wheels

Tolerances that close are considered acceptable. I am also a big cleanliness enthusiast however it is winter here so it will not be wheel cleaning time for at least 3 more months.

StopTech doesn't supply new carrier bolts with their kit and states in the instructions to reuse them so hmmmm.

I just ordered new bolts as the Audi instructions say not to re-use ($5 each).

When I was trying to source the bolts, one dealer said they don't replace them while the other insisted their workshop always replace them. IIRC high torque bolts such as these weaken each time they are cycled.... others may know more info?

Good to know. I have actually removed the carrier bolts another time before, so I'll swap them out with new ones. Just ordered them from ECS along with new rear carrier bolts as I have to remove those to swap in the new matching rear rotors I just ordered from Adam's Rotors.

    Thanks for the knowledge!

Note that to remove the rear carrier you need a triple square socket. God knows why Audi would use that on a high torque bolt?!?!

Haha yes. I had a Cayman owner tell me exactly that at Road America in October. I was losing so much time in braking zones with stock setup.

Are these the bolts I should order? Assuming 2 per caliper so 4 bolts front, 4 bolts rear. Correct? Just want to double check.

I am still without the shield and I don't think that will change. I don't know of any option other than cutting the stock shields so they don't interfere with the rotors which will then leave you with an even smaller shield that won't cover all of the disk. Not to mention I want maximum airflow around the rotors.

    Here's the repair doc: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2acka5afnk...ystem.pdf?dl=0

Those are the correct bolts. You shouldn't need to interact with the rear carrier bolts ever because the rear carrier doesn't need to be removed to replace the rotor.

hamz or anyone else running the stoptechs or other big brake kit-

Are you running around with your brake warning(little red light on the tach side) on or did you cut the wire sensor from the stock pad and splice the end together.

I just put on the ST Trophys and have the red warning light, which I expected, but didn't know if my work around would actually work?
