AMD HP passed NJ state inspection.

FYI, Not sure if anyone has gone through a state inspection with the kit yet. I just passed NJ state inspection with the AMD HP supercharger and JHM high flow cat exhaust system installed.


I also installed the JHM high flow cats and resonator in place of the cat-less pipe and non-resonated. Not sure if it's a sign of me getting older but I'm happier with the exhaust in that setup. I'm now able to hear the subtle supercharger whine, gear box whine and engine whereas all I heard before was exhaust. Feels good to start the car, pull it out of the garage and being able to walk back in without holding my breath because of the noxious exhaust smell when I was catless. Damn I'm getting old aren't I lol.

Wait, you passed visual in CA with the AMD supercharger? Did the inspector just have no idea what he was looking for?

That's really good news if so. The AMD supercharger kind of looks like it could be a stock manifold (if you don't look close enough and see the pulley). Maybe something I'll consider.

Yep. I took it to a small shop where they weren't familiar with Audis. No sniffer, just plug in, do the visual and look for a cat.

Good to know, thanks! Yep, no more sniffer in CA. Very odd given CARB's historical stance on emissions.

I suppose taking it to a place that has never seen an RS4 before (most places, probably) will work. I wonder if one place fails it visually if they have to report that, or if you can just go to other places and keep trying.

Good to hear! The first time I had to do emissions with a modded car I was a bit sketched out, but the car has passed every year no problem. This year was the first year where the guy actually looked underneath the car, made my heart jump a little but he didn't seem to know what he was looking for anyways. 3" downpipes with no cats is pretty easy to spot IMO.
