    Any issues using a lowering spring for a 2.0L on a 3.2L

I came across a new set of Stasis springs for a good price. These were originally available only for the 2L Q5. Would there be any concerns installing them on a 3.2L? The difference in Gross weight is 242 lbs and Curb weight is 309 lbs (3.2L heavier) from the info I was able to find. From what I know (which may be limited in comparison to some gurus on this forum), there is no difference in the suspension so fitment shouldn't be a concern. Please correct me if I'm wrong and let me know of any concerns you might be aware of. Vehicle is a 2010 Premium Plus (Canadian) with the 3.2L. My summer wheels are the Stasis 20X10 with et 25. Thanks in advance!

I can't say with full certainty, but on a whim I checked H&R's application guide. They only distinguish between gas and TDI (in model years 2011-12, obviously not in 2010), which would lead me to believe you'd be fine. Not sure if that really helps, but it may also be worth checking with KW (or a dealer) to see if they offer different products for the 2.0 vs 3.2. I did check their website, but it appears they haven't updated their product offerings to include the H.A.S. setup on our vehicles. Good luck...

I have seen that some springs for the 2 tfsi has a lower wieght limit than the 3.2fsi and 3.0tdi.
So I would check the spring rate/weight limit first.

Exactly what I was thinking.... the springs might not be built to handle the 3.2L engine's extra weight.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Obviously weight is a concern but the difference in gross weight of the two vehicles is 242 lbs across all 4 corners of the suspension. I'd imagine the 3.2 is heavier at the front so the weight distribution might be shifted forward in comparison to the 2.0 but that's across 2 wheels which I think would translate to maybe 70 to 75 lbs extra weight per spring. Typically a spring would be well over rated for its application in which case I don't think it's that much of a stretch but its still a stretch I'm not willing to risk (with kids) so I appreciate your thoughts. Just came across a new set for crazy good price all new in a box (dusty box - LOL).

I see that Eibach uses different for 2.0tfsi and 3.0tfsi/tdi but it seems that 2.0tfsi and 3.2fsi is the same.
It might different for other brands.

Are the stock springs the same for the 2L and the 3.2L? have bought the suspension kit - was a crazy good price - won't risk anything if I can't validate them from a safety perspective - if all else fails will resell them - includes the 4 springs all new bubble wrapped in boxes.

What's the problem? Fitment or weighting?

Was advised it would be "undersprung". I ran across some engineering formulas to calculate spring rate based on physical dimensions of the spring but won't be able to determine the max weight of the spring which would yield the undersprung scenario in which the weight exceeds the engineered limits of the springs. Am thinking of going H&R and stop puttering about but I enjoy tinkering about so the effort in getting them and investigating wasn't wasted.

Have listed them in the classifieds. Nice finish on them and the red colour makes them pop. Shame I can't use them. On to the next thing.
