RS5 Raspy noise coming from the breaks

Shortly after starting the car, whe. I'm driving off I seem to hear a slightly raspy noise coming from the wheel(s) for 3-4 rotations, then it goes away. I thought maybe it's some kind of auto adjustment of the calipers on the rotors? Does anyone else hears it?

The brakes get a light coating of corrosion on the rotor surface when it's been sat for a day or in wet weather which speeds up the process. This surface corrosion wipes off on the pads which gives a slight rubbing sound like sandpaper for the first few rotations. It that what you're hearing?

That could be, although it seems to be very regular, almost as if "programmed"

It's like the auto water clearance feature for very wet driving... but at the wrong time. I know what you mean James, but when they have that light brown coat, all I hear is a click as the pads break free, it'll take a lot of rust to get the sandpaper sound.

Is there actually such a thing? That's what I was thinking it might be, and to your point I know what rotor rust sounds and it's not that.

Do you have vcds? Check your coding, maybe you have the code for ceramics which applies the brakes slightly to put heat in the pads/rotor.

I sometimes get a little stone caught between the rotor and back cover and it makes a horrendous noise

I thought it was normal on anything above Toyota types of vehicle. Perhaps it was a dream and I've missed yet another patent opportunity.
