    3.0 Exhaust option input

Ok I have searched and I know this topic is exhausted. My exhaust decided to let go last night and everything from the down pipes back is now off the car. It probably doesn't make sense to pay to have my old mufflers and mid muffler reinstalled, even though its probably more cost effective.

So, I am looking to either go with the OBX cat back bolt on or with magnaflow 14829 muffler and mag 14445 resonators.
I'm trying to determine which way makes more sense the magna flows will cost 580 without install for the 2 mufflers and resonators or The OBX at 649.
I can install the OBX myself as its a direct bolt on but not sure what labor would run me on the magnaflow. So I guess I'm asking what other people would do in my situation.

Which sound do you like better? I personally like Magnaflow. while OBX is a DYI setup, are you going to be happy with the sound or slight drone? some guys like the way OBX sounds so that's what they get, in the end what matters is your personal preference.

I figured the OBX would't drone due to the resonator pipes. If I run the Magnaflow without resonators will it drone?

I have the OBX system sans resonators and there is minimal drone that is usually drown out by the radio, outside the car it sounds pretty good not overly loud has a nice tone. I had bought the system used and it was hacked up bad so I ended up getting a custom system from the cat back built using the mufflers for around 175 if I remember correctly. Talk to some indy exhaust shops and see what they would charge for a custom set up with mufflers and check out some sounds clips on youtube, they are usually crappy but they at least give you an idea if it will be relatively raspy or throaty.

I have an OBX exhaust and I too have minimal drone. Its actually a mild exhaust. Not that loud. With the OBX the clamps are complete garbage and the screws for the support beam by the mufflers didnt fit right. Had to buy new clamps and screws at Home depot.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the Maximizer exhaust on eBay, is it the same as OBX, just not polished? Also priced out magnaflow parts to build a 16601 setup for the 3.0L does anyone know what it would run for install on the parts before I pull the trigger. As of right now I have nothing on the car from the downpipes back.

I'm looking at the magnaflow setup but I have a feeling I'll by it all to piece together and then have a 300-400 installation.. not looking to break the bank just looking for something better sounding then stock not for performance.

does the S4 exhaust system fit? I'd think it would be rather cheap to find a used S4 system that is in good condition if it bolts up.

It will... finding one locally seems to be a problem.
