Ant the steering feel is 100x better than my S4, it feels more "real".

A little upsetting! I wish the steering in my car felt like that...

Most likely due to the lighter weight over the front end.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

If you compare the Manual too, it's a lot smoother. The S4 manual is notchy as all get out!

Wheel and tire package makes a big difference in my experience.

I just put an ECS short shifter in my A4 to make it more precise and tight, like the S4 feels. The stock shifter was sloppy and the throw as long as a big rig.

OP, one of these will help your steering feel.

I think this will make the steering more responsive, but it wont make the physical feel of turning the wheel "tighter," right?

I've got this, an Ultra Racing strut bar and dynamic steering turned on and my steering is pretty stiff. Got rid of nearly all of that slinky feeling it had when turning quickly. Also have a rear lower tie bar, but not sure it does much other than look raceboy.

True, the S4 with the 19"s has fairly wide tread in the front. Couple this with the higher weight of the wheel and tire, you will loose a bit of feel.

The A4 with the smaller width tires (and less aggressive) allows a bit better feel and responsiveness.

Go to a 235/245 front, and your steering will probably be a bit better in feel, but you will lose handling performance.

If the feel is really bothering you, try some lightweight wheels, which should help with your responsiveness.

My B8 is in for its 55k and they gave me a 2016 A4 sline with 19s. I feels much more like my car than previous loaner 2015 A4s I have driven. There does seem to be something different with the steering, at least to me. I still like my mechanical steering!

Best is in my CRX none power rack, lots of feedback!
