I'm merely speculating here, but GRUMPY-S4 has the APR TCU on his EPL ECU, so probably.

I'm hoping Unitronic releases their TCU Tune soon. There's a dealer fairly close and I'd like to give them a shot. APR is right up the street from me, but I'm still hesitant on them right now.

As long as their rev limit is high enough, it should work. We don't support it per se, but we don't prohibit mixing. If it hits the rev limiter, let us know and we'll load up a file with lower shift points.

You actually don't need to go to a dealer when flashing Unitronic software. Can do it right from home now with UniConnect. Lot of people have not seen this yet.

Takes all of 20min to do.

That should work too. I don't think it's ever happened and I don't expect to see it, but it should work.

I ask because I would like a tcu for drivability only, although yours appears to be the best, it's also the most expensive, so I'd prefer to get one that is half the price of it makes my car drive better in normal driving conditions

All the added benefits you have in your tune are great and probably worth it, but I only need to smooth out the trans really

The drivability stuff was the longest part of building our TCU tune. We have at least a couple engineering days invested in every single shift. For some combinations, like the 2-1 downshift and the 2-1-2 "I'm slowing down for a red light and it turned green before I stopped", we have weeks invested

I get that it's expensive, but as they said in Pulp Fiction, "you will know where that extra money went".
