Works great! Tapped into the passenger accessory fuse. I can post a picture of the wiring if anyone is interested.

It's a Lukas LK-7200 CUTY with GPS, stamps your speed, license plate, and time into the videos, also records when you are away from your car (if your voltage drops under a preset value, it'll turn the camera off so you don't come back to a dead car). I had one in my previous car, but it would overheat, it being winter I have no idea if this one is going to be subject to the same problems.

Please let me know which fuse you used. I have my Blackvue camera installed and want to hardwire. Just need to find a live fuse. You can save me a lot of time if you can post or PM the one you used.

The 2 20A fuses on the first block are the ones you're after. The first one is the cigarette lighter, I think the power to that is killed when the car is off. The second 20A fuse is the socket under the armrest, which is constant on. The wires for powering this camera are fused as well, so nothing is gonna blow up. For a ground, I used the screw at the bottom of the fuse block, and sanded off the black paint under it so it could ground.

You're not alone i did not see the pictures either on the tapatalk. Is the dashcam for your own protection?

In Las Vegas, the police will not respond to an accident unless there are injuries. So yeah, I got the camera mainly for use as evidence in the event someone hits me and then tries to deny fault or claim that I was at fault. Drivers SUCK out here and I have considered starting a YouTube channel and posting video of all the knuckleheads doing dumb things. I once called a company to report one of their drivers driving in the emergency lanes, cutting traffic, etc. The call actually rang through to the driver (owner of the company). I offered to send him the video clip. He declined the footage but it was amusing to hear the him squirm!

A side benefit is that I can record footage of a nice scenic drive too.

The one scary part of a dashcam, especially one that records your own speed, is that it could be evidence against you too! If you're going fast and someone else hits you, then can ask for that speed data to argue your speed contributed to the crash. I'm still on the fence about dashcams.

That is true, but the Blackvue camera I have mounted has the option to disable speed info.

As does mine. I'm not sure that cops can take your memory card anyways. I wouldn't mention it's existance until after the fact anyways, be it an accident or ticket.
