    N249 issue

I'm having an issue with my DV opening during heavy boost. It either flutters or opens fully causing a major loss of boost. I disconnected the N249 system by blocking off the hose to the DV - the issue went away. So I think I've narrowed it down to the N249. I installed a new N249 and the problem persists. I'm headed to dealer Friday to get that check valve that's attached to the N249 to see if that helps.

Any ideas what else could be causing this? I must assume the N249 is opening the DV since the problem goes away when it's disconnected / disabled, but I thought that an N249 failure or a leak in the system would prevent it from opening the DV at all...?

-There are no codes other than an intermittent voltage out of range on the rear 02.
-Only other issue is some kind of clog with the PCV that I can't figure out since I replaced the entire breather system. I know there is a clog b/c the oil dipstick is always popped out.
...I'm assume these two things are unrelated to the issue at hand.

All VAG-COM logs look great accept the sudden loss of boost that I get when this issue occurs. I don't see a block for the N249, Could it be that the ecu is telling it to open for some odd reason?

    Update:
Check valve didn't fix. Getting ready to borrow a vacuum tester to check, but it seems to me a loos of vacuum would do the opposite of what is happening.
