    Interest In A Dyno Day?

    Curious if you guys are interested in trying to get a group dyno together. Hit a dyno day few weeks back and was planing on going down again, now that I got a new tune on the car. While I was there I got to talking to the owner some and more so his business partner. So figured I'd throw it out there to see if some of you guys are interested and I can run the idea by them. They specialize in Subies, so I was the only non Sub/Evo there, might be fun to do an Audi day if possible. Shop is 5250 Performance in Longmont right off the highway.

    Why not just do it at Bluewater so you can be around your fellow bretherin and support a local business catering to European cars? They do these things all the time.

    Nothing against Bluewater, but as a small business owner I was helping another smaller business. Having a 30 mile drive instead of a 70 mile one is an added bonus, especially since I can't stand being in Denver. Lived there for years and was down there yesterday, try to avoid it whenever possible.

    Just figured I'd throw it out there to gauge interest, if there isn't much interest, I don't really care. I'll schedule mine for next week and go from there.

    Bluewater has dyno'd my car a ton. I let Jeff at UM and gabe use my car for the Audi b7 2L e85 ko4 tune ha ha.

    This is going to be my last dyno before I make a decision. Either enjoy it as is (not likely to last long), go E85, or sell. Cars a blast, just doesn't really excite me like others I've modded.

    Yea I don't mind it though. I enjoyed having it done.

    what all is done to your b5?

    Trust me I enjoy the car and it moves for the current setup. But I am planning my next build.

    I have a Nogaro blue, stage 3 K04 car on coils and a lot of other stuff done. Ditched the APR canned tune and running a Motoza tune which is a different world. Car is fun to drive, just doesn't excite me to get in it, if that makes sense. Might just be from owning nothing but American RWD V8 cars, or the super close gear ratios in it. By no means do I dislike the car, wanted one for years. I just keep hearing that little voice pushing me to a RS6, CL65, or supercharge a Corvette (despite hating the interior of the C6 Vette) or 15' 5.0 Mustang.

    Nice man. Those 2.7's move with little work. Always hate running across one ha ha
    But, I hear Ya on the v8 need. I want a 4.2L S5. Don't even care if it's slow I just want the rumble.

    Car certainly isn't slow, just...different. Honestly I'll be disappointed if I don't get into the 350AWHP range next dyno trip.

    Was talking to a buddy yesterday and both can't own anything without a power adder anymore at this altitude. Having both done N/A engine builds before, it's just so much more cost effective to go forced. So if it came N/A it's getting forced induction, haha. I am digging the 3.0 Supercharged S5 too. Finding a performance based, manual trans coupe these days, is not easy.

    Ya I understand what Ya mean man. You should easily be in the 350 range. I am 320/420 with a ko4 on e85.

    I hear Ya. But if I get the v8 nothing is happening to it performance wise. Just keep it stock and enjoy it as the going out car with the women.

    On the APR 91 tune I did 291awhp/356tq which was under what I thought it would be. So we will see how the next one goes.

    I gave up saying I will leave anything stock, because I know I can't leave anything alone. Always starts with a tune/suspension then spirals out of control after that.

    Surprised to see it that. Figured at least 350. Maybe due to the apr tune which I hear is always soft.

    I say that, I would do exhaust, wheels, and maybe suspension but not power adders.

    I was surprised too, but then again on canned tunes I have lower expectations. So we'll see what the next one does.

    I usually don't plan on power adders, but they happen...usually after it begins to feel slow.

    I hear ya but the 10k+ to add a power adder to the s5 would keep me from doing it

    I got a Motoza tune couple weeks back, and the revised tune this week. Dave is a good guy and his office is 10 min away. Was going to go with Daz, but trying local first. Was a big time saver getting it corrected when the APR ECU freaked out and put the car in limp mode, lol.

    The blower price for the v8 S5 is crazy. I come from a large domestic background where you can go with a blower or even turbo for $5k-$8k. If I remember right you can only run 6# or so unless you want to build the engine on the S5, at that point it's just way too much for the relatively low reward. Which is why I would go with the 3.0 version that already has a supercharger if I got an S5.

    I have heard good things about motoza too. Not too impressed with the daz tune I have on the b6 3L. Not very smooth in pedal transition amongst other things.

    I year ya. I though want the sound of the v8. Looking for a cruiser this time around. The 3.0T is a very impressive motor for sure but, just can't beat the sound of the 4.2.

    I wish things were cheaper but again the Audi performance market is much smaller than your domestic. I wish the kits were cheaper

    Yea I hear ya man. To each there own. The 3L is super nice and takes modes rather well.

    Yep it sucks but the Audi line really in luxury over performance in most cases. You hit the nail on right on the head man. In stock form most Audi's go great for the average person.

    I used to do that drive. I am settled in southeast Aurora/Parker now. I do like to drive though and I enjoy hitting up new brewery's around the state.

    Don't worry, you wouldn't be the lowest, a Legacy wagon did a whopping 74hp, haha.

    Spoke to him and he's interested. So I guess the question would be, when do we want to do this. Everyone free on a Saturday? Maybe the 23rd or 30th?

    Spoke to the shop, it would be $80 for 3 pulls, 3 car minimum. So I would be up to do it if we can get confirmed showing of a few guys. Not the end of the world though if we can't get it going right now.

    Left this alone for a few days to see if there was enough interest but doesn't seem like a lot of guys have time or ready.

    If we can get four I'll proceed, otherwise I may just schedule my own dyno and be done with it.

    Location was the same reason i went with Dave and honestly im glad i did. Im also his stage 3 e85 guinea pig though
