The silver RS grill closely matches the car's trim (mirrors, fog light area) which is aluminum-silver. Pair it with silver-finish wheels and everything matches better vs black grill IMO.

If you went black grill I'd tend to want to murder it out and black out the trim, mirrors and wheels either dark gray or some sort of black.

Yeah, its wrapped in a vinyl that the same style as the aluminum mirrors.

No idea, had the local car wrap place do it. I can't imagine its very hard to find something like that, they knew what to use immediately.

I don't have a photo yet (and not a black car) but I spray painted the ecs rs grille metallic and it looks amazing - not sure how it'll hold up to the elements but I think just fine.

They can be had with silver mesh from the Chinese factory, but you may have to go through a couple pages of ebay listings to find them. They are also available in "hex iron gray" which is pretty similar to the OEM RS grilles and is the direction I will likely go if/when I find a grille that I like.

Wow. The cars in this thread are crazy nice. On a white car the black optics grille looks good, but the RS grille looks amazing on darker colours.

They come with silver mesh. I custom painted mine to match the OEM RS grille, which is not silver in and around the mesh, just the front surface. I'll provide a photo later to illustrate this.

Alright, thanks! I was hoping to avoid eBay, but none of the sponsored vendors carry it in silver/gray mesh. I guess I'll comb through the listings.

Mine is metallic grey mesh. Got it from ebay for 250 shipped.
The vendor ships out of HK. This version of the grille also has the smaller mesh behind the rings. However, the ring holder is molded into the grille.

I like it, the thing I am really looking for is an RS4 grille where the rings don't stick out so much to make it look like a clown car. This one seems to have the rings more recessed.

You have to remove the bumper. Check out the grills on ECS for instructions.

B8S4 one post before yours has volunteered to take one for the team. Thanks B8! I had contacted the seller requesting for higher rez photos, especially close ups of the mesh (can't tell if sides of mesh are black or silver/gray as well). He said he'll send me some, but haven't gotten them yet.

Grille looks good. Am I correct in assuming that europlate mount is easy removable? Count me in on a group buy if fitment is as good as the grille looks now!

I am currently doubting between this one you posted, which I would maybe paint the insides in black and the black grill with chromed edges. My car is black.
