Best website to buy reman calipers?

Title, I'm going to replace seized rear calipers on my a4 and want people's recommendations on where to purchase good quality re-man calipers for a fair price. Shipping time isn't an issue if shipping is cheap or free.

You can get brand new ones for about $150. I wouldn't bother with remans considering I replaced 4 reman calipers on my A4 in 2 years

RockAuto.com has them pretty cheap if I remember correctly. You could also go the route of getting some at a junkyard and rebuilding them, which would be even cheaper but obviously more work.

Amazon is my go-to for calipers. No core and pretty reasonable prices. Cardone is usually what I get.

Where are you finding new OEM rear calipers for $150??
I've only ever seen genuinely new calipers for ~$450.
$150 is barely more than a good reman caliper without core.

I have some off my sedan sitting in my garage that I have been meaning to rebuild. I may be interested in getting rid of them.

New TRW from germanoem.ca. It's a Canadian site so Canadian pricing. This link is also for the S4 rear calipers. Dunno if Jason will ship to the US

That's nuts. I've bookmarked it in case my (Cardone?) reman calipers go south on me.

How did the reman calipers fail? Did they seize up? Just understanding what to expect.

All 4 failed due to parking brake seal churning itself up. You find out only when you notice a large puddle of fluid sitting around your tire.

That or you loose brake pressure and end up somewhere you're trying to avoid

Yup my buddy had that happen to him like 3 days ago. Didn't know that it was because of reman calipers

I bought a pair of Nastra loaded reman rear calipers from RockAuto. One year out and no issues. Reman units are not inherently bad. There is a difference in quality. I tend to avoid Cardone as I think their QC leaves something to be desired. As they are one of the biggest reman company in the US, they are also responsible for much of the chain private labeled units. RockAuto also makes the core return fairly simple.

Wow, I'd hate to have that happen...
I might end up changing these out beforehand then.

IIRC you can buy S4 calipers with the mounting bracket for the rears and obviously the rotors and pads for a cheap bolt on upgrade if your doing them anyways. I just check on rock auto and they see to go for around 100$ for caliper/carrier.

Agree. It's a cheap upgrade. Wanna do 300mm rear at some point when I need rear brakes.

I think for the DD car the perfect per dollar upgrade is S4 rears with the A8/TT from upgrade. Won't kill the bank and should last longer then regular A4 brake parts.
