    Hi
My Audi A4 B8's driver's door stopped unlocking with the key. VCDS showed the following.

Address 42: Door Elect, Driver (J386) Labels: 8K0-959-793.clb
    Part No SW: 8K0 959 793 E HW: 8K0 959 793 E
    Component: TSG FA H11 0250
    Revision: Serial number: 0000008782043
    Coding: 011002204001410001
    Shop #: WSC 06325 000 00000
    VCID: 428BAC83DD7A0A0EC27-8017

    1 Fault Found:
02115 - Locking Unit for Central Locking
    008 - Implausible Signal
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 01101000
    Fault Priority: 3

The part number it is showing is 8K0 959 793 E, but I found many used parts on ebay for a cheap price but the last letter is different, some have C or H or J. If I buy the same part number with a different last letter will it work? Can this be corrected using VCDS? I don't want to pay a fortune to the dealer.

What is Part No. SW and HW, some parts on ebay have different last letters for SW and HW. Should the part number match with both SW and HW or one should be fine. If any one has knowledge on this please help.
    Thanks
    John

I think you need the same part number suffix. Search the forum, I think you can buy the same part from a Porsche dealer for a lot less than what Audi charges for the same part number in an Audi box. I think it is used in the Cayenne. Porsche part markups are much less than VW and Audi. I guess they figure they have gouged you enough when you bought a Porsche....
