I think it's about that time that I replace my headlight bulbs because I literally can barely see anything at night. What headlights do you guys recommend? The brighter the better.

Are you asking about the whole Head light assembly or head light bulb? If it's the bulb I have used sylvania I don't have hid head lights. I am wondering if they can be upgraded to the hid ones my self.

Just the bulbs, I don't want to have to get into getting a new head light assembly yet.

Go with sylvania i haven't had any problems with it. The driver side light bulb went out four years ago changed it never had to replace the other. Got it from pep boys.

I replaced my bulbs last week since one was turning pink. There are two options that I would personally recommend.

    1. 5500k Morimotos XB
    Amazon:

    or TheRetrofitSource:

    2. Osram CBI
    TheRetrofitSource:
    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/d2...l#.VowRkBUrKhc

I went with option 1 this time which are the Morimotos 5500k and was really impressed with the color and brightness. It is a night and day difference between these and my old bulbs. On my previous car I went with Osram CBI's which are much more expensive but they were worth every penny. I can say without a doubt that they are best bulb on the market. I wanted to experiment this time and wanted to give Morimotos a shot. I went through a lot of aftermarkets bulbs and these are the best performers. Would I buy Morimotos again? YES YES YES!

One thing that would help a lot would be taking the headlight unit apart and cleaning the residue from the lens. Turn your lights on a give the lens a close up look. You will see how much dust there is on them. It blocks some of the light and it also makes a glare that might be blinding oncoming traffic at night. This will be my summer project. Good luck and hope that I could at least give you an idea what to look for.

To add to this, resurfacing the outer lens is a good idea too. The 3m kit from autozone with the sandpaper and polishing pad works very well.

Totally agree! I already used 3m Restoration Kit on 3 different cars and it really does magic. The tricky part it the sealant. A lot of people use liquid UV sealants that are gone from the headlight after few car washes and within few weeks you need to re-do your job. I personally use 3m clear hood bra and that lasts for years without re-doing your headlights. Currently have it on my D2 A8L for almost 4 years and it still looks brand new. Few months ago I restored my sold Acura TL lenses:

I also did my girlfriends's Acura TSX lenses:

    AFTER:

If anyone in Chicago area would like to get their headlights done I can do them for free. You just need to provide the 3m restoration kit and 3m clear hood bra.

You cut the hood bra to fit the headlight correct?

Really you should take these headlights out and use a 3M kit that uses a power buffer. I tried the hand kit and it didn't do squat to my headlights. The buffer kit and taking them out made mine look new.

Unfortunately the adaptive lighting wires fry with these and it's almost worth just buying new headlights. There is no way to fix them without completely disassembling the whole light (baking them and separating the over from headlight housing)

Yes, I did. It was really easy an it gives your protection for years.
