+1. That sounds potentially pretty expensive.
When my car was hit in 2014 I spoke with some collision experts and they said Audi's position for a proper repair on front wheel hits is to perform steering rack replacement whether it obviously needs it or not. I'm not sure about the rear, but a diff fault doesn't bode well.
Another thing that sucks is that a lot of the parts on the suspension and some frame members are cast aluminum. Meaning if they take a hit they don't flex and flex back again (like steel), they just crack. My front cross member had to be replaced from a smallish hit because it was cracked around the bolt holes where it attaches to the front body under the engine. Body shop didn't see it until some parts were removed so it made it onto the revised estimate.
Summary: modern cars use materials designed to make them lighter and cheaper to build but they appear to require more repair time/parts replacement/$$$ vs older designs.
