    Tiptronic issues

I searched around but didnt find anything specific to my problem. Anyways, my 07 S4 is giving me some issues as of late. The transmission shifts randomly to lower gears when barely pressing the gas and sometimes acts like its in limp mode but then goes back to normal. Today i put it in manual mode and it wouldnt shift. The display switches from all red PRND12S to Normal like every third startup. But there is really no pattern. No clue whats up. Its been an AZ car its whole life but now i live in WA. Probably just sad and wet.

Are these two separate issues, or did you mean it switches to higher gears almost immediately (i.e. 4-5-6) when taking off from a stop/slow? Which definitely feels like low low power because 6th gear is not exactly designed for acceleration from 15mph. My car does that on occasion and it is quite annoying especially when trying to merge/turn into traffic. I must have some sort of speed sensor messed up somewhere but I don't really know what.

I've never had much issue with the paddle shifters though, just what seems like a slow response time (1-2 seconds) which is probably normal, and never an issue on the display. So you might have some other issues. Any codes/have you scanned it yet?

turned out the transmission needed to go through a relearn process. Dealer fixed it.

i think the tiptronic is designed to learn your driving habits and adjust itself based on your driving style, For example When I started driving my bfs S4 as my daily it seemed to shift randomly and didnt seem right but its because it was used to his driving style which is way different than mine. it adjusted eventually and feels normal now. I think there is a way to reset it but I dont remember exactly how.

they hooked it up to their computer and had to reflash it. They said it was a software issue which sounds stupid. It some how developed a bug and was freaking out. Most likey because i had a blow out and my spare tire that i had to run on it is a bit smaller than whats actually on the car. They reflashed it and i drove fine to the tire place.
