WTB: I WTB an Audi and had some questions...

Hello all, new to the forum.

I am looking to buy an Audi and I had a number of questions I needed answered. I have the ability to buy a B6-B8. And just to let you guys know what I'm working with, I am an independent college student in my last year. I will have close to 5 figures to spend on the car. Also, I am living on my own with no kids and have what you could consider a moderate-paying job (for the moment until I graduate).

So here are the situations for each generation:

B8: The cars I have been looking at are ~$17k with miles ranging between 60k-100k. Haven't looked into warranties yet so that will be added to the price. The amount of money I am putting down, I am hoping the payments will be low.

B7: Cars have been priced between $8k-$12k depending on the amount of miles. Also would like to get a warranty for this generation because I am told the maintenance is high. If I were to purchase this generation car, I wouldn't have much to pay on it afterwards with the amount of money I am putting down. So I my main concerns are warranties and maintenance costs.

B6: I would be able to buy to this car outright. Would most likely have enough money left over to get the car as close to highway-ready as it could possibly be. However, I don't want to go no lower than 2004, so that leaves me with either 04's or 05's.

So as you can see, I need some advice on which model I want. My main concerns about the purchase of the are warranties, longevity, dependability, and maintenance costs.

    Thank you for your input!

    So here's my two cents - I've owned two B8 A4s (a 2.0T and a 3.2L FSI)

    - Watch out for the oil consumption issues and trans issues with the B8 2.0T cars.
    - Don't sacrifice bells and whistles for a couple thousand dollars on the purchase price (it's only a few bucks extra a month for a much better driving experience).
    - If you're looking to do mods for power gains then get the 2.0T over the 3.2L, but if you don't want to mod for power and only do suspension/wheels/exterior mods (or none at all) then the 3.2L has advantages (more power, better sound, fewer issues, and only slightly worse MPG).

In the end I should have spent the extra money and gotten the S4

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't want to spam each section with this same post.
So you think with my current situation, a B8 is best?

I was thinking B7 also, but the warranties I have been coming across are crap. I don't want to buy a B7 with that many miles and not have anything to help me when something goes wrong. Who should I look to for warranties?

IMO a b8 would best suit your needs. Thats coming from a b7 owner. I love my car but maint is a real bitch.

So if I were to look for warranties, say for an '09, what would I want the warranties to cover in particular?

    09 only came in convertible.

honestly man, i don't know. Warranties are worded very tricky to try and get out of doing work from my understanding. I pay out of pocket
