Why isnt there a stage 2 chip?

    Hey guys,

So i recently did all the modifications to my 2002 audi tt 225 to go stage 2. The APR authorized dealer has tolled me that there is no reflash for a stage 2 chip. The stage 1 that is already installed will adapt to the mods. Im curious has anyone else heard of this info or do they have any suggestions or recommendations. Im just worried that I'm not going to get the full power out of the mods staying with the same chip. And I'm curious if the chip actually does adjust to the new mods being put into the car.

    Thanks!

    Slow motion over here, eh?

When I got the downpipe installed on my '02 225, I still had the Unitronic 1+ (93 oct) tune and ran fine ... for a bit. Check engine light came on before I got the Unitronic Stage 2 flash done and all's well after that. Ran better too.

Your question makes me wonder though if the APR tune actually does adapt? Would save some change vs. a tune upgrade.

If your car is just transportation to you, you don't own the right one.

There is an APR stage 1/2 testpipe file available, this will prevent a "cat efficiency error", conversely it will fail the readiness check for either cat or 02. An )2 sensor spacer may be the better option depending on your emissions rules.
