Hi JVince. I recently purchased the actual Audi OEM AMI to USB/Bluetooth Audio Adapter kit. I am able to stream music files from both my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android device as well as from my Wife's I-Phone 6. I've also been able to stream internet radio , You Tube audio source, etc. It shows the song title however, no album art. You can use your car's controls to move track to track and back but in order to search your library, you'd have to do that from your device. Not sure about the USB. Does your car not have the SD slot? That is my personal preference. No album art but song titles and other details are displayed and I can search by music artist.
The kit mentioned above comes with an AMI to USB adapter cable, a USB thumb drive (with software to update your system to recognize the Bluetooth Adapter if needed) as well as the Bluetooth Audio adapter itself.
Haven't tried it yet but evidently, the OEM Audi Bluetooth adapter does not interfere with your phone calls. Supposedly, The music with pause when your Bluetooth call comes in then resume when the call is ended.
These adapters were evidently discontinued by Audi a while back for some reason however, there is a guy, Joe, the Parts Manager at Audi Beverly Hills (California) that bought out the remaining stock. Not sure about the cost of shipping to Canada but you could hit him up. The part number is 4F0-051-510-J and the price I paid was $159.95 USD. Sound quality is good (not as good as the sd slot though).
One thing I am trying to figure out though. When I leave the Bluetooth Audio adapter plugged into the USB end and turn off my car, the blue light inside the adapter stays lite. I was hoping just to leave it plugged in all the time but don't want it to drain my battery?
