On my way to my tire change appointment this morning to put on my winter treads, I rounded a corner (clearly too fast) and slid across the snow covered pavement hard into a curb. I damaged both my driver side rims, both to the point that they need to be replaced. The car is at the shop right now. Currently looking into getting some new (or used) rims, but I'm really not too optimistic that that is the only problem. I'm fearing the worst (screwed alignment and bent frame?), and hoping for the best (just replace rims).
Has anyone else experienced this unfortunate situation? I feel so dumb for allowing this to happen to my car, and I can't stop thinking about the problem.
B8 S4 on OEM 18" rims... was on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 at the time of the incident.
UPDATE: The rims are bent to shit and need to be replaced. However, there seems to be no other damage to the frame or surrounding parts. Just a matter of buying two matching rims, getting them powder coated to match, and an alignment. Then hopefully should be all good. Thanks to everyone for the help! Much appreciated!
