    Steering Column Vibration

    Hey guys,

I have a 2012 S4 6MT with 71k KM on the odometer. Recently started noticing as I was backing into my parking spot at the condo a vibration in steering. I feel it through the floor, not through the wheel (I'm assuming due to EPS) but is also present at high speeds although more difficult to detect due to all the other sounds at higher speeds.

Additionally I am having LOUD SQUEAKY brakes, to the point where I can see pedestrians covering their ears when I stop at a stop-sign.

Warped rotors? shot bushing? Any ideas?

    Thanks guys,

    JK

You are probably metal to metal on your pads and rotors and when you are backing up they are grinding "against the grain".
    That's my guess...

+1. Check the brakes, might be in need of replacement. If not, just take it in to have a mech put some lube on the sliding parts and it should kill the squeal.
