Hi people, new member here from Uruguay...and new to AUDI too..
I need any advice on this

    http://www.rschip.com/chiptuning/aud...2.8i-30v-193hp

is this real?? does anyone here have any experience with those chips??

I have a B5 Avant 2.8L 30V Quattro in very good shape and I dont want to mess the engine...
The page says it can give me +29 Hps and is totally safe, and you can change modes (Sport, economica etc) with the app in the mobile

could anyone give me any word on that?!

    Thanks

    Claudio

I'd take those figures with a grain of salt, best you can get out of a 30v is about a 10hp gain with unitronic. Naturally aspirated makes it hard, but unitronic is your best option for reliability and actual figures over what some companies claim

What he said + intake and exhaust and see 10 to 15 hp. If you really want to mod and make hp sell car and buy a 1.8t or s4 . The 2.8 is a good motor but not much for an after market/ making big hp numbers.
If you have more questions search and ask we will help if we can.

Lol those are like turbo gains they're advertising. Faaaaake.

You'll realistically gain 10hp with a chip. Add in an intake+exhaust and you'll be another 10-15hp ahead. You'll be over 200chp and increased drive-ability

    ok...
    Thanks for your advices..
I dont really need to mod my 2.8.. the thing is that a friend is installing RSCHIPs here, and told me to put one on mine.
B5 Avants here in Uruguay are very rare, and no "S" version...so mine is one of the best B5 arround here.
I bought it 2 month ago and I really love it..
I dont want a 1.8T because there are no Quattro and only 148Hps, no leather, and worst conditions

    Thanks for the advices!

The reason people like the 1.8T is because with only $200 you make the 1.8 faster then the 2.8. Add another $1000 and now you are twice as fast as the 2.8 (not really but you get a lot more horsepower.

That being said if there are no quattro 1.8T then you are probably better off with the 2.8 with what my mind pictures when I think of Uruguay. Mountains, lots of rain, a few dirt roads you need to go on every once in awhile.

A good thread to read would be Down_N_Dapper's thread with a 2.4 twist. He has a 2.4 V6 due to his market and he as done amazing things with it.

Side note, Unitronic actually advertises +16hp/+17tq from a 91 tune.

Anyways, I just run a k0mpressed tune like everyone else. Debating doing mounts/intake/full exhaust instead of forced induction (down the road about 2 years).
