2016 S6 Throttle Body Alignment

This has probably been mentioned before, but I thought I would share the method that worked for my C7.5 car. I understand this can be done with VCDS, as well, but a security code is needed.

With the key in your pocket and the drivers door open or closed:

1/ With the ignition off, press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor.
2/ Press the start/stop button while still holding the pedal on the floor. If the door is open, press the menu button on the steering wheel, to stop the beeping.
3/ Wait 10 seconds and then press the start/stop button again, to turn off the ignition.
4/ Hold the pedal on the floor for another 3 seconds and then take your foot off the pedal.
5/ Wait 2 minutes. In the first 30 seconds you will hear some clicks and clunks, as the throttle is calibrated.

Why would you need to do this?

I understand that it resets some of the ECU's adaptations, so it should be a good thing to do if you have bought a car second hand and the previous owner didn't drive it very hard. I was also told to do it after switching tunes, but when my tune dealer tried to do it with VCDS, he couldn't because he didn't know the security code. I've also read that it has improved power, in some cases, and fuel economy, for people that thought they were using more than they should.

I should also point out that it won't work if there are any engine fault codes present, battery voltage is less than 11.5 volts and the engine temperature is outside of the range of 5C to 95C. Also not for diesels, as they don't have a throttle body.
