    Window Regulators OEM or Aftermarket?

hey guys so my driver door window regulator has been out for the past month and ive finally gotten sick enough of it to replace it. (if it doesnt make the car faster why spend money on it ). so ive been looking at different regulators and i want to go aftermarket due to the fact that they are cheaper and i have read that some of the aftermarket is actually better due to oem being kind of shit. i was just wondering if you guys had any input on different brands for aftermarket that are good and long lasting or if i should bite the bullet and go OEM.

I put one in for a neighbor. They purchased it at advance auto, I think it was 40 50 or 60 I don't remember but is been in for a year no problems yet with the cheap regulator.

I just grabbed mine from a part out. It's been working like a charm for about 8 months now.

My experience with these is that the little plastic stubs that fits through the door to locate the gear that the motor shaft fits into do not have a deep enough hole for the screw and if you even slightly over tighten it the stub will eventually break and the cable will come off and get stuck in the gap. On the last two I replaced I drilled all the way through and replaced the OEM screw with a machine screw and nylock nut ( I believe m4). I have had zero issues since.

haha yeah i got sort of unlucky because on my previous b6 the window worked (with some finnagling of the switch up and down of course) for around 3 weeks after i got the dreaded crackling sound so i thought i had more time. but on my current b6 it completely crapped out like a day after starting to crackle so i didnt get my window up fully. ive been having to push it up every time i park, but i finally found a good used one for a good price after about 2 months of not being able to use my driver window haha.
