    2009 AudiA4 B8 Cam Follower Procedure?

I have searched the forums and I have seen every type of A4 but the B8 and up for this procedure. I have seen where you disconnect the HPFP sensor cable and idle your car for about 10 seconds to release the pressure on a A4 B7. Does that go for the A4 B8 as well? I notice the HPFP is not identical and just want to make sure as I do not have a pressure release valve. Any help is appreciated guys!

Not many have pulled the HPFP on the B8. The improved cam roller design compared to the B7 cam follow button has practically eliminated it as a problem.

That makes sense and thanks for the info. I have a loud metallic ticking coming from the HPFP and pipes in addition to to the normal ticking that we have. It started a couple weeks back. I was assuming the follower, HPFP or Cam chain tensioner. The follower of course being cheap to check. I had the recall done to the cam and follower in 2013. Not 100% on how to proceed.

To realizes fuel pressure, you can pull the fuse from the fuse panel by the driver door. It's in the middle stack and about third from the top. 25a fuse I recall. Do this after starting the engine. Repair manual says to not let the pressure go below 6 bar. I flubbed this and the engine shut off without any issue for me. There are YouTube videos on what you're asking- may be a VW engine, but very similar.
