    Car will not start!

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Came out from work to start car thought it was battery jump start nothing . everything seems normal car just wont start . but i do hear a humming noise. anything i should check for?

    It's typically spark/electric or fuel if not starting.
    If it's cranking and not starting it may be your fuel pump...?

    That's if it is the fuel pump.....
    It could be a blocked filter.

    Silly question maybe but related - what does the fuel gauge show?

    Prob not as bad as you think... could be many other things too though... I was just speculating... you'll need to get it diagnosed. Report back with findings.

    If you are worried about cost and not under warranty, you might consider taking it to an independent garage that specializes in Audis/German cars. You will save money.

    Do you have a VAGCOM or a friend with a VAGCOM, to check for codes/faults? They do not always produce a dash warning light.
    If the engine cranks, it's not the neutral safety switch,

    Need to check fuel & spark.

    Install should not be more than 1 hour... at most 1.5

    i don't know how to install anything to do with the engine. figure dealer rip off on labor charge..

    I would post a DIY for the fuel filter.. The filter sit right on top of the pump, but I wouldn't attempt if you don't know what you're doing.

    400$ labor is not a reasonable price IMO .. 200 at most. Go to an Indy that knows what he is doing.
