    **ST coilover user chime in

I see that a lot of people are using the ST coil overs on our cars. I am looking to go pretty low and was wondering how they handled being low as far as bounciness and softness and so on. I am sure it has been covered but cant seem to find a pile of info. It sounds like they are hard to beat for the money. The other thing I am wondering about is corrosion over time. I am in maine and the stuff the use on the roads in the winter is nasty.

Any help would be appreciated. Any regrets or anything notable would be great. I am looking in to coilovers for this and am spoiled with Airlift on my B5 S4 avant.

    Thanks in advance!

    **ST coilover user chime in

I do not run the ST coils on my car, but I have been on this forum for a while and have read a lot about user experiences. Here is what I have read:
    1. Great option for the price.
    2. Can't go "slammed" like a bagged setup but can get a nice drop.
    3. They are a little bouncy at the lower settings.

Now, if corrosion is a concern, then you may want to pay a little more and go with the KW V1 instead. The STs have the same internals as the KW V1 but are constructed of galvanized steel were the KW is made with stainless steel. The KW's will resist the elements better in the long run than the STs.

Sin is right on the KW vs ST make up. I've had them on my car now for about 3 years, all the way down when I was on stock wheels and then I raised it a bit when I put on my current wheels because they poked out a bit. The ride is pretty close to stock either way and they give you the ability to adjust them how you like, for the price they can't be beat. This is the 3rd winter here in St. Louis and they use plenty of crap no the roads here too and they are holding up well, the major thing is to keep them rinsed down after they've loaded up the roads with salt and the snow is cleared. Either way you go you'll be pleased. You can also buy Koni FSD and springs and get lowered that way but then you lose out on the ability to adjust your ride height.

Closing in on a year since I installed the St Coils and no problem at all. Best bang for the buck you can buy. I also live in Indiana so have all four seasons of the weather.

I've had them on my car for two years, with a 2" drop initially.
I raised it by1/2" and my son has been using as his daily driver through all four seasons.
Here in NJ we clean them periodically, and they are fine. Great bang for the money.
Did front and rear sways at the same time. Great ride quality and cornering.
