    Tpm sensors?

Getting my new wheels delivered tomorrow and wondering if I need tpm sensors? I know we have a way to store the psi in mmi but from the threads I read some said yes and some said no. Just trying to clarify if I need to order some audi a4 b8. And if so where is best place to buy. Thanks

I took mine out and didn't install them when I got aftermarket wheels.

I just go to check my tire pressure every time I get gas. It's free and easy to fill up in PA stations (electronic meter, you just set what PSI you want and it'll fill)

    what year is your car?

2013 on I believe all don't have TPMS sensors, the ABS sensors are used instead.
pre 2013 I assume has TPMS sensors

My 2010 doesn't have sensors. I think 2010+ uses the ABS system

I coded TPMS out on my 2009. Didn't ever alert me when the tire(s) were low. We have electronic pumps that you set the PSI to and it fills them up to that pressure stopping automatically, so I have no excuse not to check my tires when I get gas.

+1, no need for sensors. The system calculates the tire diameter differences from the rotation speeds sent by all 4 ABS sensors. It's a passive system.

How? Code it out, done. Or buy new sensors.

2011 = Sensors are in the wheel well area, not in the tires.

Basically. You can have the tire shop swap the sensors from your OE wheels to your aftermarket set if you won't use the stock ones anymore, but if you want to have both sets available you'd need to buy a separate set of sensors for the new wheels.

Does anyone with a 2009 have the problem that everytime they switch out winter/summer and vice versa, the TPMS sensors all fail? I've had independent shops and an audi tech try to learn/adapt the TPMS each time, but they never work. Have to buy new ones everytime. About to have to buy a 3rd set of sensors in a year. Significantly increases the cost of swapping setups.......... To be clear, I have a unique set of TPMS sensors on both the winter wheel/tire set and the summer wheel/tire set. Both sets of TPMS, and both sets of wheels are OEM.
