    2016 S5 Lease Deal

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello all. I'm planning on leasing a 2016 S5 for 3 years. I understand the next generation S5 will be out in the near future, but I need a car soon. I've known the GM at the dealership for almost my whole life and is a great family friend, so negotiating and such is not a problem if the current deal is not reasonable .It has an MSRP of $61,100 and the dealership is offering me the following deal: 36 months, 10k miles per year, 5k down payment including all fees, $687 per month. What are your guys' thoughts on the price they are offering me, should I pull the trigger or is this still a little more than what I should be paying. All thoughts and info will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't be putting any down... but thats just me. There are plenty of guys on the forum that have gotten similar deals with 0 down payment.

    2016 S5 Lease Deal

No money down, other than start up costs, on a lease.
10k miles per year? I hope it's not you're only car or you work from home because I see a few grand in over mileage fees if you turn it in at the end of the lease. 12k minimum, I'd recommend 15k to be safe though if they offer it.

There are a few more factors to look at like residual amount, rent/lease factor, and then you should break down what your down payment is. Are you paying taxes on the whole car or just the 36 months worth of lease, is your first month payment included in a down payment, was there any cap cost reduction?

Without these no one could tell you if you're getting a good deal, because your residual on the car could be $50,000 which based on your monthly figures would be like saying you paid over $14,000 in interest on a car for 3 years. This is why it is important to know residual and the other items I've listed above.

No down payment on a lease - if they insist have them roll it into the lease this way if something happens to the car you won't be out the whole 5k - ask for miles per yr

you need to know the money factor and residual percentage and compare that to what others are getting
