Paper vs rubber for transmission pan

So I've decided to change the transmission fluid in my '05 3.2. The kit I bought arrived with a rubber pan gasket. I've heard some say that the rubber won't work, that it has to be paper gasket. Any thoughts or experience with it?

Rubber is better IMO. I am actually looking very hard for a rubber gasket. But, the one from duralast I ordered from Autozone didn't fit. It was about two inches too large in circumference. Where did you find a rubber gasket?
