Manual Conversion question regarding Steering Lock

so I have just removed the auto shifter from my car and the steering lock cable is just hanging there like shown in this image from bikesai



My question is, what do i do with this cable? I all but removed my steering column to replace the pedals and have the cable out with my key barrel, could i simply remove it from the key barrel or is there more to it than that?

Remove it, you don't need it when converting to a manual.

I just left mine hanging there like in the picture. I never tried to remove it and I have not had any problems.

I completely removed it this afternoon, was quite easy, wont have any issues of random steering locks!
