My RS5 was keyed... AGAIN!!

On Monday my RS5 was keyed again for the second time. This time the passengers side rear panel. Thankfully on got into the clear coat. Long key mark probably 15 or so inches but on the middle part is deep. Brought to my detailer who made most of the smaller marks go away but the center is still visible just feels flatter to the touch.

Any good body shops or detailers in Los Angeles that you guys can recommend to get this completely removed.

Definitely not and ex or my girlfriend. Detailer did a pretty good job of making it disappear. Online small hairline mark in one spot. Very happy with the job after seeing it in again.

dual dash cam setup, hooked up to auth battery with connection to battery in truck in the event aux battery runs out. Not sure if g-sensor would pick up someone keying the car (turn on the camera to record) so might need to run both cams 24/7

also.. could xpel the full car..would take alot of work to key that!

If you get a dash cam get something like a Blackvue DR650. I have this which has front and rear cams and running it via the PowerMagic Pro box it wont flatten the battery. It comes on with any knock to the car and also has good motion detection. I changed my cheapy camera before this because the motion detection was shite but this way it wont record all the time leaving you to search through hours of footage.

This is what I have above my parking space, it has a 32gb memory card which I wipe off each month, if the car gets damaged then I go through the days I suspect the damage happened.

I've only ever had to use it once when I had a selection of small scratches where it looked as if someone had sat on the car wearing studded jeans. It caught the guy who damaged my car red handed, he sat on it to make a phone call and plonked his bag on the hood!

Luckily only the gtechniq sealant was damaged.

No matter how much I try, I just cannot figure out how some people think this is ok to do. It doesn't matter if it's a really nice car, or some barely running POS. It's not your car. Don't touch it, don't lean against it, and for damn sure don't sit on it!

It really boggles my mind why some people are like that. Meanwhile I'm teaching my kids to mind their coats, backpacks, etc. when walking between cars in a parking lot so as not to brush anything against a car. If it's not yours, don't touch it. If my kids can understand and respect others property you'd think adults could get it.

The only thing I can figure is that some people look at cars as appliances, and driving as a chore. Something you more or less have to own, and something you reluctantly have to do....like raking leaves or taking out the trash. They wouldn't feel bad about kicking their refrigerator door shut, or slamming the lid on their dryer, and they see cars in exactly the same way. They don't understand that other people can feel very, very differently about it.

That's pretty awesome. I park in a space in a lot and someone keyed my car(luckily it was dipped at the time, hah it was good for something)... Wish I had that. I've been looking into a camera for a parking spot... This is exactly what I need. I'm going to see if I can source this or similar in the states... Thanks!

Ideally you want one with a PIR sensor, you can set it up so it only records when someone is in the area of your car, my car is in a tower block parking lot, it's a private space away from all the other cars but it's not so far from the access door to the building.
My camera is mounted up in the pipes and cables which run the length and width of the parking ceiling, it's not visible to anyone walking past, it just blends in with the hardware up there.
They don't prevent your car being damaged but they do give you the opportunity to hand evidence to the police or confront the offender with photographic evidence as you hand them a repair bill.

I put a poster on the wall next to my car saying CCTV in operation, this was to act as a deterrent and also to cover myself legally filming members of the public, the laws over here are a bit funny about that.
