Aftermarket wheel selection for bad roads

Unfortunately my stock 19" peelers were stolen from the tuning shop that was swapping out my winters. Ive been casually looking at wheels to buy in the spring and Im having trouble finding a decent selection of 19" wheels. Wheel manufactures seem to make mostly 20" applications for our cars (at least the ones that I seem to like). I had thought that 20" wheels were out of the question because of our horrible Cleveland roads. I was ok for a couple years with my stock 19s but on my old S4 I had bent at least 3 of the stock 18s.

Does anyone up north run 20s without issue? Or should I continue limiting my search to 19s? thanks

I ran my S5 on 20's in nyc area for the past 2 years with no issues. Only problem was I lost a center cap after hitting a bad pot hole. I switched to 19" AG M550's for my winter set up but they are definitely nice enough to run in summer. I've heard from @mops and others that their barrels are very durable and can hold up. @Bknewtype ran them in Brooklyn for a good amount of time. Give them a look.

19's or 20's, no issues as long as u know how to drive. Been pounding both sets through nyc gravel roads and have no issues. Only unavoidable rock chips.

Just dont plunge into potholes at full speed. Slow down if u can, and drive around it and ull be fine

im considering going the 20 inch route too... like the 20x10 size from pictures and just want to make sure the tire is wide enough to cover the edges of the rim for a little protection. And.. I hate the stretched look.

For durable cast wheels, BBS and Vorsteiner get my vote. The M550 is also a good wheel. Have a look at VMR too. They do a very nice wheel, and have a FF line out.

If you're looking for a strong, reliable lightweight wheel, FlowForm FF01's and FF15's can certainly do the trick. With flow forming we can keep prices lower while still producing a lightweight wheel that can take some abuse. Here's an S5 with FlowForm FF01 wheels in the IPA finish:

HRE or BBS. Both are available flow formed I run the stock rotors on 20". No issues. Always maintain your air pressure. Watch for big potholes.

    Thanks for the shout, Mops!
V803 wheels seem to be popular with many A5/S5 owners. They are flow formed so they're light weight and at some of the most competitive prices in our field
These are only made in 19", though. Are you looking specifically for 20"?

Another good option is Neuspeed Rse10's

I had 19" Advan RS. Now 18" Gram Lights. I'll never go larger than 18.

I'm thinking of these Enkei's for my next wheels.

Here is an option. The Volk G25. Super light and even stronger. Around 20 lbs for 19" and 21.5 lbs for 20".

Running an awesome deal on them right now, and a G27 fit too. Sizes below....
