    Well that went poorly...

Just finished trying to install my CTS pulley. Got the OEM pulley off and pulled the CTS pulley out of the oven, ran it over to the car and...shit, doesn't go on the input shaft. So I go to collar it with the pulley tool and notice that the center bolt on the removal tool is stripped On the first 3 threads. Double shit. So now I have a pulley stuck about 3-5mm on the blower shaft that won't come off and I have no means of removing. I emailed CTS to have them overnight me a new bolt, but I'm open to other suggestions

Can you just get a similar bolt from the toolbox or Home Depot?

Put a bolt with a nutt and washer on both sides so you can adjust how far you want it to stick out it will do the exact same thing and just use the two outside bolts to pull it of

Heat the pulley back up (evenly) with a torch and tap it off with a hammer

After you get the pulley off and try reinstalling it, have a friend use a computer keyboard dust removal aerosol can turned upside down to freeze the shaft of the supercharger. Have them do it constantly while you get the pulley out of the oven and bring it out. That helps too.

sweet also put the toaster oven beside the car so you can literally pull it straight out and put it on the shaft it literally cools in seconds.

Yeah good advice. I ended up baking the crap out of my pulley at 450 degrees for about 2 hours. It slid right on like a glove.

I also had an Air line next to me so as soon as I put it on I blasted it with compressed air to cool it.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm baking the crap out of it now. I don't have a countertop toaster oven, so I put the pulley on a metal tray and made a tent with aluminum foil to hopefully hold more heat in for the 3-5 second trip from the oven to the car. Also ambient temps in the 30s yesterday and today probably aren't helping my cause.

I put a bag of ice on the supercharger shaft for about 30 min and set my oven to 385, cooked the pulley for about an hour and half, after that it slipped right on.

Good job glad you got that done. I know how you feel, I had to heat it up three times and at the end we used a sweating torch to heat it up and a can of air upside down to cool the shaft.
