Any other Audi seats swap into our cars?

I know the B6 S4 and the B7 S4/RS4 seats will swap into our cars. Anyone done anything else that is OE Audi without custom brackets or extensive modifications?

I don't know, but there is a set of B8 S4 seats on craigslist that I really want to scoop up. With the new B8 A4/S4 seats I think the wiring harness is different and has to be modified to work with the B8 seats but I think the rails are the same. The rear seats though I don't think will fit.

That's what I've found in my research. At the end of the day I'll hopefully end up with B7 S4 Recaros

You need to cut the guide pins on the B8 seat rails and swap connectors with the ones from your B7 seats. The connectors are different.

Yep- B8 S4/S5 seats have the same rails and are really nice.

TT S-Line and TTRS seats also have the same rails and are actually surprisingly nice as well (same as US R8 seats).

Interesting. The B8 seats seem to be more readily available. Would ideally like to stick with something from a B7 as it would be the least modification. Anyone know if C6 S6 seats will fit?
Have done seats in my B5. Axis, what do you mean by guide pins?

    RS4 bucket seats or bust!

B8 seats are indeed a decent upgrade.

You can see the guide pin on the rail on the right, also pictured are the different connector (one locking tab in the front instead of one on each side on the B7)

And the guide pin as to be removed on ttrs seats, I'm not even 100% positive on B8 seats but I assume its the same.

I would only do S4 or RS4 seats. I like the side support from the Recaro's. The RS4's are nice but not worth the extra premium they seem to garnish in my opinion.

Thanks. I am really only looking to replace the fronts. So it's just a matter of swapping guide pins and splicing in the connectors from my B7 seats?

Seems like unnecessary hassle considering they're the same design as B8 S4/S5 seats, unless you have a line on a pair for silly cheap.

    1) They say "S6" on them
    2) Are much less common/harder to find compared to S4/S5 seats
    2) No confirmation that rails are the same.

I do. Frankly I have been searching for months for a set of B7 S4/RS4 seats. The closest I could come was a set Axis had for sale, but couldn't sort out a way to get them shipped from Canada. Have asked the seller to send me a pic of the bottom rails and connectors.

B6/B7 cabrio sports seats are another option. They aren't as bolstered as the S4/RS4 seats, but still an upgrade from the stock seats.

For the B6/B7 the S4/RS4 Recaro's are (in my opinion) the best option. I sit in a lot of different seats on a daily basis, and they're still one of my favorite.

Where at in Virginia are you? I'll keep a lookout. There have been a few sets that have gone on sale in the past year locally so have faith lol. Also, I know someone with a b6 s4 avant that is parting it out. I'll ask him about the seats

I am in Richmond. Thanks for looking out. There was a set down in Virginia Beach though they weren't heated. That's a must for me. Would drive several hours if needed.

For the B6 S4, the air bag pressure plate needs to be swapped which would require me to pull apart mine, essentially making them difficult to sell.

You're welcome! The seats are in Northern Va.

When you say they weren't heated, you're telling me that there was a set of non-heated recaros? I've never heard of a set of recaros that weren't heated, at least in the front. Those were probably the set that falconcrest picked up last month.

As for the pressure plate, you are indeed correct. I will tell you that if you're worried about selling your stock seats, you probably shouldn't for the simple fact that there's no market for them. You'll be sitting on them (pardon the pun) for a while lol. Also, with these coming from an avant you can swap out the rear seats since they say "recaro" on them and you wouldn't have to modify anything since you also have an avant. In essence, this is probably as good a situation as you could probably ask for since a full set of recaros out of a b6/7 s4 avant are extremely rare.

Yes, required rewiring and splicing of B6 seat connectors onto A3 seats. Also, there was a tab on the rails that needed to be cut off. Seatbelt mounting was different, so that needed modification as well. Whole job was a major PITA. Other than that, they bolted right in.

Yup heated seats were an option on S4s. If you take a look at the cars for sale in the southern states especially, you'll notice no heated seats quite often.

I would imagine though it's not too hard, just tedious and annoying.
I figure the wiring just consisted of matching colors. I wondering about the seatbelt fabrication.

Seriously? I'm in Virginia and just sold a set. What color are you looking for?

I am in Richmond. Looking for black Recaro's that are heated. Would drive several hours at this point. Ideally want a set from a B7 as that is plug and play but would take a set from a B6 at this point.

Although not black, but price is hard to pass on...

Thanks for the link. The alcantara is nice but looks pretty stretched and worn on those.
