Audi Connect and second owner

I bought my 2015 S3 used with 6000 miles on it but want to know how I can set up Audi connect for myself. The trial has expired and I'm undecided if I'm going set it up but I would like to make the car all mine. I've set up an account on my.audi.com and added the VIN but when I try to add the SIM number it says it was already activated. my.audi.com gave me a PIN to enter into audi connect in the MMI but it says the telephone module needs to be set up.

So is there a way to associate this with the account I created. I would at least like the option to set up Audi connect if I choose.

What I did on mine was to get a "tablet" sim card from ATT (I have a share plan) and put it in an adapter, stick it in the MMI, after entering the code from my.audi.com everything worked the first time.

Interesting. I may go that route, I just thought I would be able to use the existing SIM and just add new service to it. I'm thinking the original owner either never used it or just let the trial expire. They only had the car for 4 months. It has a AT&T SIM.
