Spent the last 4 years in an A4 stage II after selling the RS4. Needed to go eco to build a house, kids etc. After the 500 mile drive home, it's great to be in a V8 again. First impressions are I absolutely love the impact the drive select has on this car. In the B8.5 S4 i drove it was noticeable but not extreme. In the S6 it feels a lot more dynamic. The exhaust sound needs a little more for me, that will come at some point i'm sure. The bose stereo, is not overly impressive. Everything else, from the seats, driving characteristics, power, looks, finish and smell are incredible. I did not drive one except for a quick spin when i showed up with the check to buy and am very satisfied.

Of course i need some help, anyone know for sure if these a6 black optic rims will fit over (specific concern is clearing the front breaks). Looking to use them for winter setup.

Given how thick the wheel is, I suspect no. Many 19" wheels don't clear.

I'm running 19s on winter boots on my S7 with no issues, so you'll be fine putting 19s on the S6

Thanks JK. From what i understand, not all 19's have the same clearance. I've heard some clear others don't. You don't happen to be running the black optic a6 wheels in question...?

I believe it should have the same offset because its the same C7 chassis. You might be in the clear(see what I did there?).

The offset is +43. Which if my math worked out, they would sit in towards the car just a bit vs. stock. I'm guessing there's only one true way to find out and that would be to try and mount them.

It's not the offset I was worried about.

Me either. Inside diameter is the concern.

But if you think about how 19" are the stock size for the S6, why wouldnt these fit? Interior diameter is the same. The offset is always the concern, its what brings the outer part of the wheel too close to the brake caliper.

Interior diameter varies wildly between wheels. Unless those same wheels are sold on the S6 it's not a guaranteed fit.

The only time Ive seen an issue with interior diameter is when theres a deep dish lip that goes inside behind the front of the wheel. Thats when there isnt enough clearance for the caliper. Ive never seen an Audi OEM wheel that had different interior dimensions for its size. I dont know everything, Im the first to admit that, but for OEM wheels, the offset is usually the only thing that is different(per size range).

The other, and most common, issue with wheels and large brake calipers is the thickness of the wheel spokes and the angle at which the spokes intersect with the circumference of the wheel.

Take two different wheels of identical diameter, width and offset; one might fit and the other might not.

As other have suggested, unless you or someone else has tried them there is no reliable way to know if they fit. In my opinion it's unlikely.

    These fit, but just barely.

    https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/winter.html

If you look here, you will see Audi's recommended winter wheel size for the S6/7 is 19" running 235/45 R19 99V XL tires.

The wheel, if you do a parts look up (http://www.partsbase.org/audi/audi-a...d-4g00736398z8) is a 7,5JX19 ET33

So, logic says you can run any 19" wheel with similar characteristics and you should be fine. I happen to run a different style of Audi OEM wheels to the same spec with 235/45 R19 Continental winter boots.

BTW, in the UK at least, the Black Edition A6 OEM wheels are 8.5J X 19. The same fitment is also listed as an option for the S6, so l still don't see an issue.

To be 100% sure, you could look up the OEM part number for the black optic alloys and check the spec. I don't have that part number, sorry.
