Panther black S7?

Hello all,

new to the forum here. Im attempting to order an S7 in Panther Black. Has anyone done this? Ive heard of Panther black being done on an S3 and SQ5, but not on an S7. Im pretty sure they can do it. I tried to order an S7 in Prism Silver, and it took Audi 3 months to tell me that they couldnt do it. Apparently Prism Silver doesnt pain well on the S7, because the S7 bumpers are different than the RS7. Panther black is also one of those stock RS& color options so Im wondering if Im going to run into the same issue. Im getting a little disappointed with the whole process since Ive lost three months already because they couldnt figure out that Prism Silver doesnt work with an S7.

Thats the silliest thing Ive ever heard. You should be able to apply any color you want to the car. Panther black would be an exclusive color on that car. Shouldnt be hard to get applied to the S7.

Yeah, I called BS on that too, but thats what I was told by the dealer. To be fair, even he was kept out of the loop until it way way late. Were both scratching our heads on this one. Audi germany that it has something to do with the body style difference between the RS and S. Anyways, you cant configure an S7 with RS colors on audiusa.com. Maybe Ill try the German or UK site. Seems odd though doesnt it? In theory you should be able to paint the car any color you want.

So the paint wont stick to different curves? Come on. Change dealerships.

And no, you cant configure cars with exclusive colors(colors that arent OEM for that model).

I wanted daytona matte on my S6. bad. but was told audi won't do matte paint on the S6. believe me, I asked more than once...

I suspect that has less to do with "can't" and more to do with "won't". They're trying to keep Matte with the R and RS.

Just get the color you want and do a matte clear wrap over it.

Or get a basic black or white without the exclusive paint charge and wait time, then get it wrapped or dipped in the color you really want.

The black + wrap is a great idea. You sell the car when you're done and the buyer gets perfect black paint, something more or less non-existent, even from the factory.
