My TDI averages about 29 mpg with a mix of driving on the highway and the city. I live in an area with a lot of hills so it's really good. On the highway it averages anywhere from 34-36mpg depending on the terrain. My F-150 Ecoboost averaged 14 mpg so it's a huge improvement.

When I fill up it shows 1020 km on the DIS.

But when i refuel I've usually driven 900 km, actual (includes lots of HWY)

Good luck with your purchase. I've found fuel economy to be really hard to generalize. I'm all over the map with my 3.0T. Traffic, terrain, and right foot all heavily factor into the equation. Nearly all of driving is a mix of traffic and hills. If it helps, over the course of approximately 300 miles between fill-ups, I tend to average just under 22mpg. On road trips, I'll see between 25 - 27mpg at an average speed of 70mph and mix of terrain.

i'm seeing about the same as q5 dave and vroomvroom. if you set cruise at 70 or lower, you can get 26-28mpg, or just over 500 miles on a full tank. any faster than 75 and it drops pretty quickly. around town, i get 20mpg on a good tank, but more like 17-19mpg. i also drive up and down a lot of hills. this is based on doing math at the pump, and not the car's digital readout.

i set cruise to 80mph and got around 23mpg highway. was disappointed, lol, but whatever. also that was during engine break in / first 500 miles so maybe it will get better.

I average 19mpg mixed driving, and I am definitely not nice to it on a regular basis unless i'm on the highway or its not warmed up yet.

Since I got my SQ5 a year ago my overall average is a little over 18 MPG. On the highway, around 75 MPH I manage 25-26 MPG, but I've seen as high as 28 MPG. Spirited driving is around 15-16 MPG. I definitely saw about a 2 MPG bump after going Stage 2.

SQ5 and for the past 6 months I've averaged 15-16 mpg with daily use. If I can get on the freeway and cruise at 75-80 I'll get 23-25mpg.

    Gas mileage isn't everything.

    My '11 S4 (3.0T) averaged about 21 mpg over 95K miles.

FWIW, my '13 S6 (4.0TT) has also averaged about 21 mpg over 15K miles.

Tune and intake won't affect mpg maybe +1 if your nursing it.
