For those who have installed a southbend stage 2 daily clutch.... How do you like it? Did you install a lwfw? If you used the stock flywheel did you have it resurfaced or just let it be?

    Let me know,

    TIA!

We use the SB stage 2 daily clutch kits on these cars often with good luck and has been very suitable for stage 2 cars. I almost always recommend replacing the flywheel especially if it is slipping, in which we recommend the Aasco flywheel.

You can see the SouthBench clutch kits on sale right now with Free Shipping right here on our website.

The clutch isn't slipping at all, but with all the stories of clutches begining to slip- I figured I may upgrade as preventative.

If I get in there I'm changing everything including the flywheel. That's exactly what I'm waiting to do. When the shop has some time the car is getting every tranny accessory new. Master, Slave, clutch line, flywheel, clutch throw out bearing and whatever else is in there just to be on the safe side. The labor to get the tranny down on these cars is too much to do it ever again. I'm going with ECS flywheel and clutch haven't figured out yet but most likely the SB stg 2 since they offer it as a package with the flywheel. Just my .02 cents

Why not just get stage 3? I'd rather have more than enough clutch than an adequate amount of clutch. The price difference is negligible.

I wouldn't even sweat it until you get issues. There are plenty of people on stage 2 with stock clutch. Hell there was a thread about this on quattroworld like 3 weeks ago. Unless it's seeing perpetual launches or redline multiple times a day, it should last a while. Especially since you have the USP line

I did not do a stage 2 daily but I did do a SB Stage 2 Endurance. I was really hesitant at 1st because I did not want to get any chatter but the Shop that installed it for me said they had done about 10 of them and had no chatter issues whats so ever. I had it installed Thursday 12/24/15 and I am about 250-300 miles on the break in and so far so good! just a tiny bit stiffer than OEM but the more I drive it the smoother it gets. I recently went Unitronic Stage 2 and under WOT I felt the clutch slip that is why I upgraded I did the clutch and flywheel Kit HAPPY so far I also did a Neuspeed short shifter and man does it make a real difference!
    I hope this helps!

the endurance is appealing with 30+ more tq rating. How many miles on your car before the slipping was felt? Did it begin as soon as you went stage 2?

Yeah so I just hit 94k and I could kind of feel it going already before I went stage 2 but had no slipping issues I just needed to push a little harder on the pedal but as soon as I went stage 2 is when the slipping started that is when I knew it was time.

If it's not slipping then why spend the money and undergo the surgery and recovery?! I'm not replacing mine until I have to...
I've been stage 2 for years now with no slipping at all...

Because I do all the work on my cars myself and I currently have access to a lift which may not be a luxury I have in the future.
