So correct me if I am wrong, but pulley is 549.99, then labor to install. So ball park 750-800$? Can't decide if I want the TCU tune or to go stg2.

This question keeps popping up again n again. Start with Stage1 + TCU first, and eventually step it up to Stage 2.

Yes the Stage 2 upgrade is $549 (for the pulley and Stage 2 software), but you must have already purchased Stage 1 software OR purchase it at the same time for $1299 (currently 10% off). The pulley generally takes about 3 hours to install from start to finish.

Running stage 1 93 Oct for about 2 months now, and it is a blast, so either way I go with the pulley or tcu, I don't think I can go wrong, but tcu will take like 35mins and I can drive back to the house. Pulley on the other hand 2 hour drive and 2-3 hours install and 2-3 hours back to the house.

Stage 1 is like $1,200 then you add in the $549 for the pulley and Stage 2 Software Upgrade. Like $1,800 total plus a couple hours install time. I did the Stage 1 and TCU/DSG Tune first knocking out the majority of the costs, enjoyed it for about one month then bit the bullet for the upgrade and am glad I did

I went from stock to STG 2+ and TCU tune..."no RAGRETS" lol. Both are amazing...if I had to choose, though...I'd get the TCU tune first.

Giac stg2 + Tcu tune here, I was is the same boat as you deciding between APR & Giac, went with Giac last week and haven't been happier. Giac/awe stg 2 + tcu with install will cost same if not less then apr just in parts (extra for install).

I am thinking about the stage 2 for the wife's SQ5. How stock like is it? Will she notice any negatives? We have the car lowered on KW'S and she likes it so it's not like she's super fussy but if it doesn't shift and run Audi smooth that could be an issue.

If she's OK with the KW's/lowering, she probably won't notice any huge difference- or at least in a bad way. GIAC and APR are pretty linear in terms of throttle mapping (i.e, they don't jack up the throttle mapping), so you don't really notice it unless you get on it. There is a definite increase in lower end torque with stage 2, but not something that would negatively effect normal driving. Someone with Unitronic did complain that the throttle mapping made the car a lot more sensitive, and I can't say on the other tunes with any first hand knowledge.

TCU tune, done and done! 7200 PRM sounds WAY better than 6400! And this thing shifts so fast compared to that stock BS! Shout out to Sean and APR crew @ Opelika!

Actually my stage 2 with TCU tune in S mode has very aggressive throttle mapping. It has taken me quite a bit to learn how sensitive it is and not over do it on the track.

In D mode I notice no difference in the throttle sensitivity.b The car is a lot torquier, but much more linear response as compared to S mode.
