It's a brake caliper. I could be wrong but I believe you could make both work. HP2 caliper upgrades have been talked about a bunch on here. You'll need B5 S4 rotors and brake pads to make it work.

4 pads, but dual pistons. Everyone used to run them, but now switched over to the B7 A4 set up. Same rotors, but smaller and lighter calipers.

The factory brakes are severely under powered, upgraded to HP2s (or any OEM brake upgrade) will drastically increase stopping power. That said, tires are critical for braking performance.

Couldn't be more true. Your brakes are only as good as the tires that are on the car.

Thats why you run an aggressive pad, OEM brake ducts (VW Phaeton), and SRF fluid.

I got a set of used hp2 caliber off 03 a6 4.2, just the caliber and the carrier, no brake line and sensor. My question is whatelse I need for my b6 a4 cabriolet fwd beside the b5 s4 pads and rotors? Does the stock b6 brake line work with hp2? Thanks for any inpout !

It is a caliper, not a caliber. You need the calipers, rotors and pads. Bolt them up.

Here's a write up on the install. Click

After research, most ppl who went with hp2 on b6 the biggest issue is the wheel offset , I have a stock 17" 6 spoke , would my stock wheel fit? And where I can buy the hard brake line that God into caliper?

Your HP2 calipers should already have them. Sourcing them I'm guessing would not be cheap. The stock sport 17s will fit fine. Did you mean 5 spoke?

These? If yes, they will fit.

run Q5 brake calipers. the factory calipers and rotors are undersized. going to a larger Q5 caliper will give you much greater stopping power distance wise, as well as better pedal modulation.

Which caliper is it for? I do have some B5 S4 brakes in a box in the basement. I can check if either of the hard lines are salvageable. The calipers themselves have stripped out bleeder screws so they won't be getting used anytime soon. I don't know what other wheels fit but I know the 5-spoke sport 17's will work.
