Headlights aimed too high after hit a bump

I was driving in an unfamiliar area last night and I went over railroad crossings a little too fast but I didn't bottom out. Immediately after a saw my headlamps adjusting. Now they are aimed too high! They are shooting up in the trees. No fault codes in the "xenon range" module with vag com, I even did an adaptation to factory settings but no luck.

Anyone ever experience this?

There is a rod that is bolted to the drivers side straight control arm that connects to the headlamp leveling sensor. Perhaps the rod came disconnected or broke when you hit the bump. It is easy to see the end that connects to the control arm without jacking up the car or removing the wheel.
