Droning noise from front end at 45 and 65mph

I'm getting this droning noise that gets quite loud at 45mph and around 65mph, it goes away during other speeds. At first I thought it was one of the front wheel bearings, so I replaced both of those and it didn't change anything. I've also swapped the spare tire for the left and then the right separately and didn't find any changes (The front tires are quite worn and they are a cheap brand).

I'm wondering what other common areas can make this noise? Thanks!

It may sound dumb but I had a screw in a tire that I could only hear at high speeds. But if you're tires are really worn, they might be at fault.

also having the right psi/ the same psi in each tire is key. i was driving to work in a car im selling and it sounded very similar to a wheel bearing. turned out the back right tire was low.

Can a front axle or cv joint make that steady type of noise? I thought they were more rhythmic with the rotation?

Probably due to your tire wear. How are the rear tires in comparison to the fronts? AWD or FWD? Are all 4 the same brand? Difference in noise when turning left or right at those speeds (on/off ramps to load up either side)?

The previous owner put 4 new Ironman tires on it right before selling, the fronts are almost in need of replacing but the rears have a ways to go. It's a quattro AWD. There doesn't seem to be any difference when turning at all at those speeds.

It's also really difficult to tell which side (left/right) it's coming from, but it sounds like it's from the front... I can try swapping the front tires with the rears, maybe both front tires are making noise? I don't know, it seems like I would've noticed a change when I swapped out with the spare though.

Just a thought down another route, any chance you have an exhaust leak? Might be worth a look around your flex pipe and between the legs of your "Y", car running obviously. Might also be worth noting if the drone is truly speed dependent or if it is actually RPM dependent instead.

Here's a video I got with the noise, it's a little hard to tell though.

Funny. I'm getting a similar noise as the OP at around the same speeds and it's been driving me bat-shit. It's not the tires (moved them around and also changed to winters) and not the right front wheel bearing (changed out last month with SKF one). Front drive shafts are sound with no tears or excessive play. Front suspension is solid as well.

I was thinking about replacing the left front bearing but want to confirm it's that before changing out. The noise sounds like it's coming from the front of the car but hard to pin point with any accuracy.

I ran my car at those speeds on a hoist just yesterday but didn't notice the noise which tells me that it's only apparent when the suspension is loaded. I'm stumped and that noise taunting me to drive it off a cliff. Tabernack!!!

EDIT 2017, 07-31: It seems that noise was FROM the tires. I needed new rubber anyways and picked up a set of Pirelli P-Zero A/S in stock size and immediately the noise went away. Now I can hear my exhaust leak .
