Hard Downshifting 2015 A4

I've been experiencing some hard downshifting in D and S mode since I bought the car new a year ago. My wife just got me a Vag Com cable for christmas and I was able to change the display setting to show the gears when the car is in D and S. Driving around, I noticed that the hard downshift always comes when it hits 3rd gear, and when slowing to a stop in D mode, the tranny appears to skip 4th gear, or it moves through it so fast that the display doesn't update in time. In S mode, it will show 4th and the downshift into 3rd is still hard (enough to seem like the tranny is braking the car). If I'm in manual mode and allow the car to downshift by itself, the problem is gone.

Has anyone experienced this before, and is there any cure for a hard downshift with one of the gears? The car was in for it's first 5k service last week and the dealer did a stationary adaptation, which seems to have made my throttle lag a bit better, but the hard downshifting is still noticeable.

The same thing happened in my 11 B8...

It got really annoying in stop and go traffic.

Took it to the dealer, they made some new updates to the ECU.

Haven't had a single issue since.

Interesting to see the 15's having issues too..

Had this originally on my 13', as stated before ECM update helped. But didn't resolve the issue, after adding Apikol diff and the 034 upgrades it smoothed it out alot. Might just need an update, if still is an issue you can add some ancillary parts.

Still having the hard downshift issue. Took it to two dealers and one did a standing adaptation which did not fix the issue. The second dealer said they did not notice anything wrong and there were no error codes, even though I took the tech for a drive and showed him the issue...it happens every time. Thinking of selling the car if I can't get the issue resolved. It's been two years, and it only has 10k miles. Love the car except for the hard downshifting...the front of the car goes down when it hits 3rd gear in sport mode, as if I tapped the breaks. Really annoying. This can't be normal. Any other suggestions?
