It's on the rear of the oil filter adapter.

It screws into the brass threaded hole here.

If you are getting a low pressure warning, it's probably not the sensor. I would get it checked out before you potentially do serious damage to your engine.

Yes that's bad. Statistically, the chances of it being the sensor are about 0.0000027%.

There are a number of places you can get a used engine. Have you been driving around with that flashing? If the engine still runs, it may not be junk yet and may just need a new part or two. If it's toast, I would go to www.car-part.com and start looking.

Yeah to be honest, I've been driving it like this for a few weeks now. But I always check the oil before I drive it. But I got it lil under 148 and now it's a 149 and change, so it might just need a lil looking into.

It could be something as simple as a partially clogged oil pickup. Have you noticed that it comes on under certain conditions? It's likely not something catastrophic if you've been driving on it a while. I would be pulling the oil pan to check/clean the pickup tube if I were you. Not a super simple job, but it's a lot cheaper than replacing an engine.

Yeah I got that done last week and as soon as I drive a few miles it came back on. It would come on once the engine is warn all the way up. Just a quick question where is your rpm at idle ? Mines always stay around 1 as you could see in the vid. Is that normal ?

That's high for a stock car. My idle is around 900 rpm, but I set it there in Maestro. I believe stock idle is around 750 rpm.

When it's the sensor, it's a different light. It'll tell u that it is the sensor

So at least that's out of the equation

I kinda doubt it's the pump. More likely to be a stuck open relief valve or worn bearings.

Yeah I think your right, cause when I got the oil pan removed and clean they say there was metal shavings in there. Could be from a worn bearings ?

Can too much oil cause this error? You may want to drop the oil out and see if its got shards in it indicating wear. Then replace with exact amount.

I don't think the pcv might do that. If it does, then that's great bc it's a cheap fix that u can do yourself.

If it were to be the PCV, I'm pretty sure you would be gotten a danm CEL

metal shavings in your pan + oil pressure light = 100% diagnosed oil pressure issue. changing the sensor won't do much. Your pump is driven off the crankshaft so there isn't much to do there, like adam said its more likley worn bearings. hopefully not so worn that they have caused any journal damage. I would stop driving it immediately, take it apart and assess the damage. chances are with metal shavings you will at minimum need a polish to your journals, hopefully you don't have to do real machining to it.

I was able to salvage a crank after a wiped bearing with just a polish. There are pictures in my engine build thread.
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...s-how-to-do-it

I guess it all boils down to how much work you are willing to do yourself. At a certain point, a used engine plus labor to swap it out is cheaper than tearing apart your current one and fixing it and then paying the same labor for removal/reinstallation.

Before you do anything extraordinary have you checked the oil filter? There are some faulty/cheap oil filters out there that would cause this issue.

Heres a pic of my oil pump when it failed back in april. The balance shaft had significant play in it. I got the yellow low oil pressure light in the dash randomly one day and said fuck. I wouldn't have low pressure on startup but after about five minutes it wont trigger. Got a new pump for piece of mind
