6spd to auto and vise versa

Ok here is a general question for you guys. I have 3 allroads, 2 automatic and 1 6spd. the 6 is in rough sorts except for the drivetrain. it is a 2003. My 2001 is mint outside and in but the trans is starting to show issues. My question is this. Do you think it is possible to basicall swap drivetrains to have 2 driving rigs so I can sell the 03? any input is helpfull. I know I can swap the the 6 into my 01 no problem. but im pondering the doability of the making the 03 an auto to keep it driving.

Sounds like a lot of work to put a band aid. Why not figure out what it causing the trans to go bad and address that?

You are a lucky man. Id keep one manual allroad, and one automatic. Sell one automatic and restore your manual. A swap is a swap, and original is always original. Down the line if you ever want to sell your manual allroad, it will be worth more than a swapped 01e 6 speed. Im not saying you cant properly swap a tranny in with everything else that is needed, i just think its pointless since you have three allroads.

Its not a bandaid by anymeans. The 6spd has some rust starting and the 01 I just finished redoing the outside. paint front to back. I don't want to part out the 6spd I just want to throw another torque converter in it and ship it with the automatic from the 01. That is the real question is if I can put it in there when they are both torn down. The 6spd is going into the 01 anyway it works out. Would just like to have the 03 driving before I sold it.

do you have the lower center grill in good shape? how about the passenger tail light? in good shape? how about the steering wheel? head unit? rear bench bottom? all weather mats?

also looking for a single allroad wheel, the 2 piece variety, in great shape!
