    2002 A6 - Amplifier / Subwoofer ? Non-bose

Hi! I'm new here so I wanted to say HI to everyone!

I have a question to you guys, namely what is this thing on the picture. I don't know if it's amp or subwoofer or something different.
I assume I got Non-bose system with 4x mid-low speakers and 4 tweeters. Behind the backseat there are also 2x speakers.
Recently I started hearing some strange noises from right rear speaker assembled in the door frame so I have an idea to change them into HERTZ (165's).
The only problem is I need to know what kind of amplifier I've got to cope with these mid-low HERTZ speakers.
    So... any ideas?

    Merry Christmas! :)

Thanks. 2 days ago I had to open the cover in trunk. I took it out. It's subwoofer 13cm and amplifier.
    It's 2002 sedan.

amplifier is built in into the subwoofer enclosure ( at leat on my 01 Allroad). I think it is 4 channel amplifier, where two channel drive one coil on the subwoofer each and two remaining channels drive the speakers in the rear doors. Speakers should have 2.5-3 ohm DC resistance to work properly with this amp. I had very good experience with Polk MM6501UM 6-1/2" 2-Way Marine component speakers (did not use their crossovers). Having the boar speakers in a car turns in a yacht, but it worth it. You could also disconnect your rear tweeters, and replace your front tweeters with the one that come with Polk, huge improvement in soundstage.
